This is our 2nd year to go to Kristi's house for Halloween.  We fix Chili and take the kids trick or treating.  Last year Becca and William didn't care but they seemed to catch on this year.  They were so cute in their outfits.  I hope we coordinate them next year.  Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween.

What a busy week (as usual) and another busy one coming up.  Kristi and I are going to the Mistle Toe Gala Wednesday night and I'm so excited.  We get to dress up (something I don't do much of) and shop (something I do to much of).  I love love going to Mistle Toe each year.  I hate fighting the crowd but that's just part of it.  I say I'm going to buy Christmas presents but usually only end of with things for me.  I love this time of year.  The weather is finally cooling off (except for our high of 84 today) and it's the Holiday Season.  Trees come out, presents are wrapped, family flyes in, and we eat the best foods of the year.  I'm really looking forward to seeing William's reaction opening presents this year.  Last year he didn't care that much.  He was only 14 months old but this year I think he'll really be in to everything.
I hope everyone has a great week.  Don't forget to VOTE Tuesday.  Every Vote counts.  If you live in Hinds County VOTE BILL SKINNER for County Court Judge.

Pumpkin Patch

What a busy weekend.... Friday night Chris went to deer camp and came home late Saturday night so William and I had some mommy and son time.  Saturday we got up and went to Pop and Grans in Carthage.  William played outside ALL day and I worked on updating photo albums.  Sunday we went to William's first pumpkin patch.  He had soooo much fun.  I loved every second of watching him run in a huge pasture and trying to pick up pumpkins 3 times his size.  He was so proud of his pumpkin he held it in his lap until the hay ride was over.  Of course I don't have any pictures because my camera battery was dead.  Chris took a few on his phone but they didn't turn out very good.  We may have to go back just so I can take pictures.

I always say I love every stage and age that William gets to, but I really think him being 2 is my favorite.  He can "finally" communicate with us and tell us what he wants without fussing all of the time.  He loves mommy and daddy and loves to give us hugs and kisses.  He's independent but still needs our help which I love.  Moms always want to feel needed.  He brings home art work from MMO and he gets his first school pictures this week.  I can't believe how fast he is growing.  I look at that sweet face and just melt.  I secretly love that he sleeps with us.  I can't sleep with him or without him.  :)  He wakes up in the morning and wraps his sweet arms around my neck and starts singing me songs.  We are so blessed.

Ok.. Last thing on my mind for today.  If you live in Hinds County and are in my dad's (Bill Skinner) voting district please vote for him on election day.  He is a great judge and needs everyones support and prayers.  Each election comes with battles and it's always a tough process.  The candidate and family go through so much emotional drain it really wears on everyone.  Please continue to pray until the election is over!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Friday Night!!

WOW.. the Snell's have been busy.  They gym has something going on every weekend lately and this is one of the first and only Friday nights I'm free.  YAY!!  I'm home in my PJ's with  my sweet William.  Of course Chris is a deer camp but I'm getting the TV all to myself.. RARE!!  Yes we miss "daddy" but he has promised to be home all next weekend.
This week has really been full.  We already have a normal busy weekly schedule.  Mondays and Wednesdays William goes to MMO at Colonial Heights (love it).  Tuesdays  he has swim lessons and Thursdays he has music.  Fridays he usually goes to the gym for a Mommy and Me tumbling class.  On top of all of that this week we some how fit in 2 dentist appts (one for me and William's first appt.) and a doctors appt. for me (sick but much better now).
William's first dentist appt. went really well.  Of course I had to hold him down but we only had 1 tear and a little fussing.  He has perfect teeth.  So proud.  It's not easy to get a 2 year old boy to brush his teeth but he loves to do it himself.
Thursday is Chris's 28 birthday.  This is the first year where I haven't planned for weeks.  I currently don't have the first present for him.  I'm always ahead on these types of things.  I feel terrible.  Any birthday ideas would be appriciated.
Here is my favorite cookie receipt.
"you are welcome" :)
1 box of yellow cake mix
1/3 cup of oil
2 eggs
1 bag of choc. chips
mix well
350 degress for 10 or 12 minutes....
ENJOY (I am right now)

2 year old checkup

Well it was time for William's 2 year old checkup..Taking him to the doctor is so stressful for me.  I usually get really sick the day before and I can't sleep or eat.  I'm a wreck!!!!  Poor baby had his finger pricked and 2 shots (one being the flu shot that I'm totally against him getting).  He took it like a champ and only cried a little.  Our doctor talked to us for a while about his speech and a few other things having to do with William's social skills.  She recommened we get a speech therapist to come to our house a few times a week to work with him.  I'm not fully on board but of course it's not going to hurt to have someone come help him develop better speaking and social skills.  I'm with the understanding that boys develop later than girls and he is just in his own world and developing at his own pace.  He talks a lot especially with Chris and I and he has never had a problem telling us what he wants.  He doesn't like to point at things (and that's a red flag for our doc.) but he can count to 20 and do the ABC's along with a ton of other words and he loves to read.  He doesn't put sentences together but he's 2... How developed are they suppose to be?  He's healthy and happy and that's my number 1 concern.  He's very active.  He goes to Mothers Morning Out twice a week, takes swim lessons, music classes, and tumbling.  The kid is a social butterfly.  Anyway.. I'm not the expert but I would appreciate any prayers.  I'm having a hard time with this and I know it's not a big deal as of now but could possibly be a problem in the future.
Thanks!!
