I have a ton of pictures of us but they need to be scanned.  I'll get them all on my computer one day!!

To continue what I started..... The first year was amazing.  Even at 17 and 18 we went through a lot.  Chris graduated High School and went on his senior trip.  That was the longest we had been apart since we started dating a whole 6 months before.  He went to Cancun and I worked at Sno Biz.  I think I put in 50 + hours that week to keep me busy.  Most boyfriends wouldn't have called their girlfriends on their senior trip but mine did.  We had an $850 phone bill that we had to pay when he got back.  (good thing I worked so much that week he was gone)  Soon after Chris came home we went to Orange Beach with my dad and family for a week.  I loved that Chris got to go with us.  We had a busy summer.  After Orange Beach we left for our week long trip to Ohio to see my mom, brother, and step-dad, Mark.  Chris and I were together (forever).  I think even after just a few dates we knew that this was it for the both of us.  For my birthday and 8 month anniversary Chris gave me a promise ring.  It was perfect.  He spent a lot of time picking it out and I still remember what he said to me when he gave it to me "I can't express to you how much I love you but this is my promise".  That August Chris left for Holmes.  I hated every second of it.  (he was 1 hour away) I had to go back to High School of course... It was my senior year.  I wasn't sure how do deal with going to Terry and Chris not being there.  Chris played ball at Holmes for a while but ended up moving back home and driving back and forth to Holmes for the rest of the 2001 semester.  By Spring 2002 he was at Hinds and I was ready to graduate.  Graduation came and went and soon I joined Chris at Hinds.  The Skinner Family went to Disney and so did Chris.  We went on all vacations with us.  I almost refused to go if he didn't go.  By this time Chris and I had been together for a year and a half.  I soon moved in to a house behind my grandparents house.  I felt like I was on my own, growing up, but of course I was a sprint away from my pop and granny's front door.  Chris and I both continued at Hinds but soon needed a change.  The next summer 2003 Chris moved in with my mom in Ohio to work on a summer internship with Mark in his Science lab.  I would either fly to Ohio or he would fly back home every couple of weeks.  When Chris came home he started Millsaps and I went to Belhaven.  We both loved our small private colleges.  Chris graduated with a Science Degree and I have a Business Degree.  After dating for 6 years on a whim we decided to get married in Lake Tahoe....
To be continued!!

From the beginning

Everything seemed to be in "slow motion" as we use to pass each other in the halls.  Our eyes would meet and my smile seemed to get bigger and bigger the closer we would get, then he would pass and I would have to book it to get to my class on time (usually because I had purposply gone the wrong way just to see him).  I was a 17 year old cheerleader at Terry High School and as Chris Snell walked down the stairs at the athletic banquet I caught myself staring.  Tall, dark, and oh so fine.  Of course it helped that he played baseball and football.  After the banquet was over we all stood around talking when Josh Hobock walked up to me and said "someone thought I was cute" (or something like that).  Of course I had no idea who he was talking about.  Josh hinted around and soon my eyes about popped out of my head when we started talking about the same person 'Chris'.  I was in shock and left the banquet as soon as I could.  I kind of thought it was a joke.  Of course I knew I would see him the next day at school so I had to dress super cute just in case.  I ran up to Maggie in the hall and told her what Josh had told me.  While I was in the middle of telling her Chris tapped me on the back and said "Hey".. I managed to say a very quite "hey" back.
Fast forward a day or two and Chris finally asked for my number.  That night we talked for 31/2 hours.  That same week we went on our first date.  He was late of course and I was worried he wouldn't show.  I quickly found out that I would wait a lot but I didn't seem to care.  We went to see "The Grinch".  During the movie we held hands for the first time and I thought I was going to pass out.  I was calm but had the butterflies.  We had our first kiss that night and I was in Heaven.  After our first date he went to deer camp for several days.  The reception is terrible there (thank goodness it has improved the past 10 years) but he drove to a reception spot so he could call me.  We had only been together for a few days but we both missed each other.  All of this happened during the holidays and not many people knew we were dating.  I had a lot to talk about when we went back to school in January.  My first Christmas present was Ralf Lauren Perfume.  It's still my favorite.  This is just the beginning.  After Chris reads this I'm not sure how much more he will let me tell.  Happy Saturday!

PTC

So excited!!  Premier has our first All Star Cheerleading competition this Saturday.  If you are in town we would love for you to come.  It's at the Jackson "downtown" convention center.  They are such a great group of girls.
The gym has really grown.  January will mark our "one year anniversary" for us to be open.  We started out with less than 50 students and we now have over 250.  Please keep us in our prayers as we hope to continue to grow.
On another note next week is mine and Chris's 4 year Anniversary.  10 years total... Yes a decade.  I'm so excited.  I love that we have been together since high school.  We don't have any former girl or boy drama from the past.  We have grown up together.  I can honestly say we have a very healthy relationship.  Of course everyone has their share of issues but I firmly believe in putting God first in your relationship will keep it together.  Of course we get of track but "HE" gets us back on it every time!!

There are so many things I wish I could talk about on "my" blog.  I love how others are able to open up and talk about their past.  I love reading about other people who have struggled.  Obviously I hate that they have struggled but at least you know they are like you and haven't lived a perfect life.  I think writing things down helps you heal.  I have a rocky past and I hope I will one day get the courage to write about it.  For now, it will just be about William, Chris and work....
Hope everyone has a great week!

William's newest adventures

Sweet William has been an active climber for a while now.  He has now figured out how to move furniture around the house or pull drawers out and climb on them in order to get what he wants.. This gives mommy lots of extra wrinkles that no amount of Obagi can fix.  He is also a very picky eater.  We think it's due to his jaw not being strong enough to chew certain foods, but I also think he's just hard-headed about eating.  He likes what he's use to and doesn't want to try anything new.  What 2  year old doesn't like meat?  Mine!!  No ham, turkey, chicken, fish... NOTHING!!  (William currently just brought a handfull of wipes... no a box full of wipes and dumped them on my bed.. lovely).. anyway back to eating.. We are hoping when the speech therapist comes this week they will be able to tell us if he needs an OT instead.  I think a lot of his speech delays are from his jaw muscles.  He can say around 30 or so words he's just not putting 3 or more words together to make sentences.  He has NO problem communicating what he wants.. He will grab your hand and lead you to his destination then tell you what he wants.  He certanily knows how to get his way!

I'm around kids all day and I'm so amazed at how some of them act.  I know both of my parents would have torn my rear end up if I acted the way these kids do these days.  It's so much easier to let your kids do what they want then it is to discipline them.  I'm guilty of this already.  I pray we can teach William good behavior and to be a well rounded child, teen, and adult.  Kids learn from example and this is something I know I need to be better at setting.

On another note:  these are my favorite things right now!!
1. Our weather.. I'm sure that's fixing to change
2. the smell of my red current candle while I'm cleaning
3. Christmas decor in all of the retail stores
4. Talk of Thanksgiving food
5. Christmas shopping
6. Chris being home from deer camp.. hahah.. that's only going to last until Sunday morning
7. Age 2... Wow what a change.. my baby is a little boy
8. our heat being on at night and early in the morning
9. Cute Fall/winter outfits.. that I hope William can wear soon
10.  warm-ups.. I love getting them out when it gets cold!!!

Have a great weekend!

This is our 2nd year to go to Kristi's house for Halloween.  We fix Chili and take the kids trick or treating.  Last year Becca and William didn't care but they seemed to catch on this year.  They were so cute in their outfits.  I hope we coordinate them next year.  Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween.

Singing if your happy and you know it (your face will surely show it)

What a busy week (as usual) and another busy one coming up.  Kristi and I are going to the Mistle Toe Gala Wednesday night and I'm so excited.  We get to dress up (something I don't do much of) and shop (something I do to much of).  I love love going to Mistle Toe each year.  I hate fighting the crowd but that's just part of it.  I say I'm going to buy Christmas presents but usually only end of with things for me.  I love this time of year.  The weather is finally cooling off (except for our high of 84 today) and it's the Holiday Season.  Trees come out, presents are wrapped, family flyes in, and we eat the best foods of the year.  I'm really looking forward to seeing William's reaction opening presents this year.  Last year he didn't care that much.  He was only 14 months old but this year I think he'll really be in to everything.
I hope everyone has a great week.  Don't forget to VOTE Tuesday.  Every Vote counts.  If you live in Hinds County VOTE BILL SKINNER for County Court Judge.
